Model 25, 125th Anniversary Commemorative Set, caliber .45 Colt, circa 1977. In 1927, Smith & Wesson manufactured 10,000 Model 25's in commemoration of its 125th anniversary. They selected two of the commemoratives and had them engraved and gold inlaid by American engraver Alvin A. White, who had done work for Smith & Wesson since the late 1930s. The set to the rear commemorates Smith & Wesson's early years, and features an inlaid gold medallion of the two company founders. It was accompanied by a silver belt buckle illustrating Smith & Wesson's original plant in Springfield (1856-1950). The revolver in the foreground was done to commemorate the modern company and features a gold medallion inlaid in the side plate of Smith & Wesson's famous logo. It was accompanied by a silver belt buckle that features the current plant located on Roosevelt Avenue in Springfield.
