Likewise, Wesson's financial invoices include correspondence. These letters provide insight into many aspects of life during this period and into Daniel B. Wesson as a person. There are letters about investing both in banking and in business, as well as many solicitations from individuals looking for investors. Many letters are about outfitting and maintaining a wealthy household. Beginning in 1882, many letters relate to renovating and building the property Wesson bought in Northboro. This correspondence also includes letters from former employees, people looking for work, and letters of recommendation, for both domestic work and employment at Smith and Wesson. These letters give insight into conditions of work, relationships among employees and supervisors, and other aspects of employment at the turn of the century. Letters from David Baird about horses for Wesson. David Baird of Woodpath Stock Farm would sell Wesson horses for many years. His letters show a deep knowledge and understanding of the animals. There is also a postcard about Wesson's dog, who seems to have run away again, filed under BA-BL. A letter from Sarah, last name unknown, writes about her sister, recommending her for a position in the Wesson's house. Letters from Sumner Cummings, a caretaker for the Worcester house of Wesson's daughter. They are addressed to "My Dear Friend" and stand out for their detailed and personal descriptions of the property and family.
