A collection of audio and video materials relating to African Americans in Massachusetts. The first series is a collection of oral histories related to people of color working in the Massachusetts State House, from legislators to court officers and employees. The second series includes audio interviews with people involved in the African American community in Springfield, MA done for a class in Afro-American Studies at UMass. The audio interviews have been transcribed. The third series is comprised of video interviews, recorded on DVD, of people in the African American community in Springfield. These interviews have not been transcribed. While paper trancriptions are permissable, the donor has asked that electronic copies of the media not be made without the consent of the interviewee. |
