This collection consists of records pertaining to Springfield Cemetery, 1835-1957. The records of the Springfield Cemetery were housed in the office on the cemetery grounds until 1982, when a first group of records was donated to the Springfield City Library. The records contain Cash Books, Day Books, Time Books, a ledger, Rent Rolls & Accounts, a Perpetual Care index, Burial Records, Pamphlets, Programs, and Memoranda. Series 01 -- Business Records is divided into sub-series: -- Sub-series 01.1 -- Financial Records -- Sub-series 01.2 -- Burial Records -- Sub-series 01.3 -- Rent Records Series 02 -- Personnel Records; Series 03 -- Printed Material; Series 04 -- "Index to the Burial & Cremation Cards, 1868-2012"; Series 05 -- Clippings; Series 06 -- Photographs Series 07 -- Blueprints and Layouts Series 08 -- "Alphabetical Listing of Lot Owners on Older Lots" & Correspondence. An additional accession was made in 2010. Another addition to this collection was the "Index to the Burial & Cremation Cards, 1868-2012" in 2017. This was added as Series 04. Another addition to collection was made in 2019, including "Alphabetical Listing of Lot Owners on Older Lots." This was added as Series 08. |
