Book of Smith and Wesson business correspondence organized alphabetically by company/sender General business correspondence including inquiries about guns, parts and repairs from individuals, resalers, and companies; letters and invoices from suppliers about materials; employment inquiries; etc. These letters provide insight into numerous industries and supply chains involved in manufacturing. Many letters discuss materials such as metals (steel, iron, and nickel), specialty woods and ivory, oil (including sperm oil), and textiles used in manufacturing. Letters from a Mr. M. W. Robinson, in particular, provide information about international shipping, sales, and business transactions. Many letters also address issues of patents. Correspondence from July and August, 1875. The July and August book includes a letter from the Internanational Exhibition of the United States Centennial Commision. Smith and Wesson applied for space at the upcoming International Exhibition of 1976. Filed under I.
