Description |
This is the major images collection for the museum and archives. It has images from a wide variety of subjects, donors, and time periods from the Springfield area. It contains non-photographic images, such as sketches, woodcuts, lithographs, and engravings, as well as photographs and some digital reproductions. Contact archives staff with inquiries. The collection is organized into Series alphabetically by subjects, as follows. (Note that this is not a comprehensive list of all Subjects): Series 01: Bridges, Buildings, Business & Industry Series 02: Celebrations, Churches, City Government Series 03: Disasters, Fire Dept., Hospitals, Hotels Series 04: Parks, People Series 05: Residences (most are now listed under their Street address) Series 06: Schools, Streets Series 07: Transportation, U.S. Armory Series 08: Springfield Committee on Public Safety Collection Series 09: Barney Photographs Collection Series 10: Elmer Bodurtha Collection Series 11: Ross Conner Collection |
